Shooting Meatmarket
After the easter gig, Simon Raby and I got chatting about music videos, and somehow we stumbled across a good idea for a video for Meatmarket. I then forgot about it, as you do with late night brilliant ideas, and then a week later it popped back into our heads. “Lets do it!” We agreed. “Lets do it this coming Friday” I politely insisted. And you know what… we did it. This Friday we did my first music video
It was a lot of work to throw everything together in a week, Simon did an amazing job at making everything happen.
I am incredibly thankful to all the crew who jumped on board at such short notice, and who worked so hard so late at night. And some whom even stayed and helped clean up the fairy bread and balloons in the early hours of the morning! Simon Raby, Anthony Corban, Lizzie McGowan, James Dudley, Sophie Musgrove, Joshua Haw, Sam Heart.
Those boys in the band did a great job. Tory’s loud drumming caused a few technical difficulties but he made up for it with general awesomeness. Mike’s costume outdid the rest of us, and as always he looked fabulous. Ralph was very very convincing (I have bruises) when he pushed me off the piano stool (give yourself a self high-five man). Robin Liu plays guitar in the lead break of this track, he did a fantastic job on the vid as you’ll see. Dave Edmaier was dragged in on bass for this after I called him up the night before the shoot, I am so grateful he could fill in without much warning.
The extras were fantastic! They came in costume, they looked amazing, they were very patient and understanding when the evening dragged on later and later. They behaved themselves 99% of the time, and during that other 1% Ant and Kendal did a great job keeping them in line.
All in all I am just blown away by how much work everyone put in to make this happen. It was pure AWESOME!
The video is planned to be released at the Bitter Sweet Love EP release Party on the 14th of May. w00t!
